Jauch Quartz is expanding its product portfolio: The new JT21G is a temperature-compensated crystal oscillator (TCXO) that has been specially developed for use in navigation devices.
Satellite-based navigation systems (GPS, GNSS, etc.) are especially demanding regarding precision and frequency stability of an oscillator. These high standards are met by the new JT21G that guarantees a frequency stability of ± 0.5 ppm in a temperature range from -40°C to 85°C. The TCXO therefore enables a precise positioning even under the most demanding external conditions.
Navigation applications are frequently exposed to temperature fluctuations in everyday life. When developing the JT21G, special attention was therefore paid to the influence of ambient temperature on the frequency stability of the TCXO. With a maximum change of 0.1 ppm per temperature step (maximum 2°C) and a hysteresis of maximum 0.6 ppm, the JT21G meets the requirements of all common navigation applications.
The JT21G is available in the frequencies of 26.0 MHz and 38.4 MHz which are typical for navigation systems. A supply voltage in the range from 1.8V to 3.3V is required to operate the TCXO. The new device is housed in an ultra-compact miniature package measuring just 2.0mm x 1.6mm x 0.7mm. The JT21G has a clipped-sine output and is optimized for low power consumption. It is therefore ideally suited for use in small, portable devices.
Additionally, Jauch Quartz also offers a variant of its new TCXO that is particularly suitable for use in battery-powered applications. The JT21GE is equipped with an additional E/D-function that can be used to put the TCXO into a power-saving mode. In this state the output is switched to high impedance, therefore reducing its current consumption from 2 mA in operational mode to 5.5 µA.
The JT21G & JT21GE are both 100 percent lead-free and RoHS and REACH compliant. Both also comply to conflict minerals regulations.
