Furtwangen University visits Jauch Quartz GmbH – exploring future collaborations

Representatives from Furtwangen University (HFU) met with members of Jauch's management team at the company's headquarters in Villingen-Schwenningen. The main purpose of the meeting was to get to know each other and exchange initial ideas for future collaboration.

During the tour of the company, Prof. Dr. Ulrike Salat (Professor of Cooperation and Society) and Prof. Dr. Christoph Reich (Vice Rector for Research and Sustainability; Head of the Institute for Data Science, Cloud Computing, and IT Security) gained a comprehensive insight into Jauch’s production processes. The visit concluded with a tour of the in-house testing and certification centre for cells and batteries.

In the discussions that followed, several areas for future joint projects were discussed. Among other things, Jauch expressed interest in offering students practical opportunities such as internships in the field of cyber security or projects with a focus on IT and EDP. Ideas for supporting scientific work and integrating industry expertise were also discussed. Other topics included recruiting technically oriented sales staff and providing further training opportunities.

Maxim Rosbach, IT manager at the Schwenningen-based medium-sized company, presented the topic of “Artificial Intelligence at Jauch.” This future-oriented field sparked great interest among the professors, as HFU also works intensively on AI topics in its IT degree programs. This area offers promising opportunities for possible collaboration.

The meeting held particular significance for Thomas Jauch, who is not only the Managing Partner at Jauch, but also Honorary Senator of Furtwangen University. This distinction highlights the close ties between Jauch and HFU and forms a solid foundation for joint projects that foster innovation, knowledge exchange, and the development of young talent.
