The starting point was the assumption of representation for the Swiss Coin Cell manufacturer Renata AG. In the decades that followed, the Battery business of the mid-sized company based in Schwenningen was systematically expanded on an international scale, with production and supplier structures established and technical expertise continuously developed. Early on, the company built business relationships in Asia and established structures for international markets. The resulting partnerships and structures continue to shape the Battery business to this day and form the foundation for the future direction of this division.
Against this backdrop, the Battery division has steadily gained importance within the Jauch Group. Today, alongside Frequency Control Components, it represents a core business area of the company, addressing a dynamic, technology-driven market environment.
A key factor in the continuous growth of Jauch’s Battery division has been, and continues to be, the systematic expansion of technical expertise: Today, Jauch supports customer projects throughout the entire lifecycle – from the development of customized Battery systems and prototypes to testing and series production.
In doing so, the company draws on a broad interdisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, legal experts, and specialists, covering both technical and regulatory requirements.
At the company’s headquarters in Villingen-Schwenningen, dedicated infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities have been systematically established in recent years. These include the production of Lithium Battery Packs as well as an in-house test and certification center for Cells and Batteries.
This combination of development, qualification, and production enables the implementation of customized solutions in line with defined quality and safety standards.
Customized Lithium Battery systems today operate in a significantly more complex environment than just a few years ago. Sönke Zacher, legal counsel and Head of Battery Project Management at Jauch, summarizes this development as follows:
"Technical requirements, safety aspects, and regulatory frameworks are becoming increasingly interconnected. It is crucial to consider these factors early in the development process and to systematically transfer our expertise to our customers."
Against the backdrop of increasing technical requirements and regulatory demands, it is becoming ever more important to develop, qualify, and manufacture Battery systems holistically from a single source.
With 50 years of Battery expertise, Jauch is well positioned for the future and is focused on the further expansion of its Battery business in international markets.
