Privacy Statement

We take the protection of personal data and therefore your privacy very seriously. The following sections explain what using our personalised services means for you and how we protect your data. We comply with all statutory data protection provisions to ensure the best possible protection of your privacy.

a) Personal data

Personal data includes information about your identity. It includes, for example, your name, address, telephone number and e-mail address. You do not need to disclose personal data in order to use our website. In certain cases, however, we require your name and address and other information to allow us to provide services that you wish to use.

The same applies if, for example, we are to send you information or goods you have ordered, or respond to individual questions. Where necessary, we shall notify you accordingly. Otherwise, we only save and process data that you have provided automatically or voluntarily. Any further data that we may request is provided on a voluntary basis. Personal data is only processed to provide the requested service and to protect legitimate business interests.

b) Use of personal data

We use the personal data that you provide to respond to your inquiries, process your orders and/or give you access to certain information or services. We will not sell your personal data to third parties or otherwise market it.

c) Use for designated purposes only

We will only collect, process and use the personal data that you provide online for the purposes we have specified. We will not disclose your personal data to third parties without your consent. We only collect personal data and transfer them to authorised state institutions and public authorities in accordance with applicable law or if we are required to do so by court order. Our staff and the service providers we use are bound to treat data as confidential and to comply with the provisions of the German Data Protection Act [Bundesdatenschutzgesetz].

d) Non-personal data recorded automatically

When you use our website, the following data is recorded for organizational and technical reasons: the names of the pages accessed, the browser used and the operating system, the date and time of access, search engines used, names of files downloaded, and your IP address. We evaluate this technical data anonymously and for statistical purposes only to allow the continuous optimisation of our website and enable us to make our website more attractive. The anonymous data is saved on secure systems separately from personal information and cannot be associated with any individual. Your personal data and your privacy are therefore protected at all times.

e) Children

Persons under the age of 16 should not provide us with any personal data without the consent of their parents or guardians. We do not request personal data from children or young people and do not collect such data or disclose such data to third parties.

However, we have no control over the compliance of other providers with privacy and security provisions. Please therefore check the privacy information on the websites of the other providers.

a) Name and address of the controller

Jauch Quartz GmbH

In der Lache 24

78056 Villingen-Schwenningen

Phone: +49 7720 945-0

Fax: +49 7720 945-100

E-mail: info@jauch.com

b) Contact details of the data protection officer

dataprotection@jauch.com

You can contact our data protection officer directly at any time with questions about data protection.

Certain services require the collection of personal data. We only collect the data necessary for the purpose in question and comply with the statutory retention periods.

a) Contact options

You have the option on our website to contact us by e-mail and/or using a contact form. If you do so, the information you provide is saved for the purposes of processing your communication with us. That information is not disclosed to third parties.

b) Newsletter and download offers

We send newsletters about our products, current offers, events or other news from our company. Users of our website have the possibility to register for our newsletter or to use various download offers. The personal data that is collected and transmitted when subscribing to the newsletter or registering for a download results from the form to be filled out in each case.

We use the e-mail addresses used for this purpose on the basis of a previously signalled legitimate business interest or the entry of the e-mail address in the course of a double opt-in procedure. For legal reasons, a confirmation e-mail will be sent to the e-mail address entered by a person for the first time as part of the double opt-in procedure. This serves to check whether the owner of the e-mail address has authorized the receipt of the newsletter or the further sending of e-mails for advertising purposes. When registering, we also save the IP address of the computer system used by the person concerned at the time of registration as well as the date and time of registration. The collection of this data is necessary in order to be able to trace the possible misuse of a data subject's e-mail address at a later date and therefore serves to provide legal protection for the data controller.

The personal data collected in the course of an entry is used exclusively for sending our newsletter or for our own advertising purposes. The personal data collected will not be passed on to third parties. You can revoke your subscription to the newsletter at any time with effect for the future by clicking on the unsubscribe link at the end of the newsletter.

Newsletter tracking and evaluation:

Our newsletters contain so-called tracking pixels, i.e. miniature graphics that are built into e-mails sent in HTML format to allow log file recording and log file analysis. This allows a statistical evaluation of the success of online marketing campaigns. By means of the embedded pixel-code, Jauch Quartz GmbH can identify whether and when an e-mail was opened by a person concerned and which links contained in the e-mail were called up by the person. Such data collected via the tracking pixels contained in the newsletters are stored and evaluated by the data controller in order to optimise newsletter dispatch and to adapt the content of future newsletters even better to the interests of the data subject. This personal data is not passed on to third parties. Data subjects are entitled to revoke their declaration of consent at any time. After revocation, these personal data will be deleted by the data controller. We automatically interpret a cancellation of the receipt of the newsletter as a revocation.

Evalanche:

We use Evalanche to send newsletters and mails in connection with download offers. Provider of the tool Evalanche is SC-Networks GmbH, Würmstraße 4, 82319 Starnberg, Germany. Evalanche is a service to organize and analyze newsletter distribution and to plan and execute marketing campaigns. The data provided by you in the context of a newsletter registration or the use of a download offer are stored on the servers of Evalanche in Germany. This website uses Google Maps to display interactive maps. Google Maps is a map service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, California 94043, USA). The use of Google Maps allows information on the use of this website, including your IP address, to be transferred to Google in the USA. Cookies are small text files that are stored on your terminal device. Using cookies allows us to provide the users of our website with more user-friendly services. This is not possible without the use of cookies. We optimize the information we provide and our website on the basis of the data collected through cookies. You can configure your browser to disable cookies for our website. You also have a browser function that allows you to delete cookies that have already been used.

Without cookies, use of certain parts of our website may be restricted or unavailable.

We use a range of different cookies on our website to analyze website usage and for the targeted marketing of our products. We use technology from various different providers (for example Google, Smartsupp, …).

a) Google Analytics

A range of different cookies are used as part of Google Analytics. The specific cookies which are used may change over time. We have therefore provided a general description of the use of Google Analytics here.

This website uses Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Inc. (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).

Google Analytics makes it possible to associate data, sessions and interactions for multiple devices with a pseudonymous user ID. This allows user activity to be analysed across multiple devices.

The cookies are used to analyze website usage. We use the function "IP anonymisation". The data is therefore processed in an EU Member State or another country that is signatory to the EEA Agreement. In exceptional cases, the complete IP address may be transferred to a server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address transferred by your browser as part of Google Analytics will not be associated with any other data held by Google. On our behalf, Google evaluates the data transferred and produces reports for us on website activity and usage. Google also provides other services relating to website and internet usage. This purpose constitutes our legitimate interest in data processing. The legal basis is section 15 par. 3 TMG [German Telemedia Act] and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data collected in this way through the cookies are automatically deleted once a month after 14 months.

You can adjust your browser settings to manage cookies.

You can use the opt-out cookie (https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en-GB) to prevent Google from processing the data. To do so, you will need to download and install the browser add-on. To use the opt-out cookie on multiple devices, install the add-on on each device.

b) Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager allows website tags to be managed over an interface. Google Tag Manager merely implements tags. The Tag Manager tool itself is a cookieless domain and does not collect any personal data. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags that may collect data. The Tag Manager, however, does not access those data. A disable setting at a domain or cookie level will remain in effect for all tracking tags that are implemented with Google Tag Manager (https://www.google.co.uk/tagmanager/use-policy.html).

c) Smartsupp Cookies

This website uses live chat software from Smartsupp.com, s.r.o. (Milady Horakove 13, 602 00 Brno, Czech Republic). Smartsupp uses cookies to allow personal interaction with you on the website in a real-time chat. The information on your use of the service and the related data from the live chat are stored on servers in the European Union.

d) Analysis by wiredminds

Our website uses a counting pixel technology provided by wiredminds GmbH (www.wiredminds.de) to analyze visitor behavior. If necessary, data is collected, processed and stored, from which user profiles are created under a pseudonym. Wherever possible and reasonable, these usage profiles are completely anonymized. Cookies can be used for this purpose. Cookies are small text files that are stored in the visitor's Internet browser and serve to recognize the Internet browser. The collected data, which may also contain personal data, will be transmitted to wiredminds or collected directly by wiredminds. wiredminds may use information that is left by visiting the websites to create anonymized usage profiles. The data obtained without explicit consent of the affected person will not be used to personally identify the visitor of this website and will not be merged with personal data of the bearer of the pseudonym. Exclude from tracking

As a data subject, you are entitled to various rights, which we would like to inform you about in the following. Depending on the reason and type of processing of your personal data, you may have the rights described in the following sections.

Your right to the disclosure of information held about you

As a data subject, you have the right to know from us whether we process personal data about you and – if so – which personal data we process about you.

You also have the right to request from us a copy of your personal data that is the subject of processing.

Your right to rectification

You have the right to request that we correct any personal data that you believe is inaccurate without undue delay.

You also have the right to request us to complete such personal data that you consider incomplete.

Your right to deletion

If the legal requirements are met, you can request the deletion of your personal data.

This is the case, for example, if we process your data based on your consent and you revoke this.

However, we may not delete data, for example, if we have to store it due to statutory retention periods. We also cannot comply with your deletion request if it is necessary for us to process your personal data in order to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your right to restrict processing

Under certain conditions, as the data subject, you have the right to demand that we restrict the processing of your personal data.

One of these conditions is, for example, that you dispute the accuracy of your personal data. Or also the case in which we no longer need your personal data, but you need this data to assert, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your right of objection

If we process your personal data, on the basis of a legitimate interest, you have the right to object to this processing if this arises due to your particular personal situation.  This right of objection does not exist, however, insofar as there is a compelling public interest in the processing which outweighs your interest, a legal provision obliges us to process or the processing serves the assertion, exercise or defense of legal claims.

If we use your personal data for direct advertising, then you have the right to object to the processing for the purpose of such advertising at any time. If you object to processing for this purpose, your personal data will no longer be processed for this purpose.

If we process your data based on your consent, you have the right to revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future. Your revocation does not affect the lawfulness of the processing that took place until the revocation.

Your right to data portability

You only have this right with regard to personal data that you have provided to us yourself. You have the right to request that we transfer this personal data directly to another data controller.

Alternatively, you have the right to request that we provide you with your data in a machine-readable format. However, this only applies if we process your personal data on the basis of your consent, or on the basis of a contract, and the processing is carried out with the help of automated processes.

Lodging a complaint with a supervisory authority

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority if you are of the opinion that the processing of personal data concerning you violates data protection law.

This Data Protection Statement is updated on an ongoing basis in line with the latest functions and technology and applicable law. Updates are periodic. The valid Privacy Statement at any given time is the version published on the website.

As at: January 2023

In the context of submitting an application to us, the data you provide – such as your contact details and qualifications – will be used exclusively for the purpose of processing the application.

Your data will be passed on internally to the responsible department heads. We process your personal data for the purpose of your application for an employment relationship, insofar as this is necessary for the decision on the establishment of an employment relationship with us.

Furthermore, we may process personal data about you insofar as this is necessary to defend asserted legal claims against us arising from the application process.

Your data will be deleted 6 months after completion of the application process, unless otherwise agreed with the applicant (see e.g. inclusion in the applicant pool). If your application leads to the conclusion of an employee contract, the data will be included in the personnel file.

How long will your data be stored?

We store your personal data for as long as is necessary to make a decision about your application. Insofar as an employment relationship between you and us does not materialize, we may also continue to store data insofar as this is necessary for the defense against possible legal claims. In this context, the application documents will be deleted 6 months after notification of a rejection, unless longer storage is required due to legal disputes.

Inclusion in the applicant pool

If we do not currently have a suitable position for you – for example, as part of a speculative application – we will be happy to include your application in an applicant pool. However, this requires your consent, which we will request from you in such a case.

If your application documents in the applicant pool are not used by us within one year, your application documents will be automatically deleted.

No automated decision-making

No automated decision-making is used in individual cases, i.e. the decision on your application is not based exclusively on automated processing.
