The update: Jauch now supplies the cells and the complete Battery production
In the first product version, Nexenic used standard 18650 and later 21700 lithium ion cells. Today, the Swiss start-up relies entirely on Jauch’s own 21700 lithium ion cells. Depending on the configuration, Jauch’s lithium ion cells offer either high continuous discharge currents of up to 45 A or highly energy‑optimized variants with up to 5,000 mAh. They also deliver excellent cycle stability and incorporate integrated safety mechanisms such as the CID.
In addition, they provide significantly higher capacity, ensuring that Steasy® continues to reliably achieve its 15‑minute steam‑cooking time — while the device as a whole benefits from a substantially longer service life

Made in Villingen‑Schwenningen: Battery Assembly at Jauch
Another major change: The complete lithium ion Battery is now manufactured at Jauch’s headquarters in Villingen‑Schwenningen. In our in‑house Battery production, the cells are measured, sorted, assembled, and final tested. Thanks to automated welding processes, the Battery packs can now be produced in Germany with exceptional efficiency and consistently high quality — a clear advantage for production and series reliability.
The close proximity is a real benefit: Nexenic is located in the Zurich/Winterthur area, and Villingen‑Schwenningen is only about 70 kilometers across the border. This allows in‑person meetings, testing, and coordination to take place quickly and without complication.
Fast availability: Increased supply security through in‑house production
Since Jauch now manufactures the Battery packs itself, availability is significantly higher and no longer dependent on external manufacturers. Nexenic benefits from:

The Steasy® Battery is fully tested at Jauch’s in‑house test and certification center. This also includes the UN 38.3 transport test, which is mandatory for shipping a lithium ion battery worldwide. The tests simulate transport-related stresses such as pressure, temperature changes, shocks, and vibration.
With Jauch cells and full Jauch certification, the entire Battery system is now qualified and safeguarded from a single source.
