The transfer of Sony's battery business to Murata will be postponed again

On October 31, 2016, Sony Corporation and Murata Manufacturing Co. Ltd. announced that they have signed a binding definitive agreement to transfer the Sony Group’s battery business to the Murata Group. The date for the transfer was originally planned in April 2017, but was delayed to July 2017.

According to a current press release the completion of the transfer is postponed again. Due to ongoing review processes for the required regulatory approvals Sony and Murata are now aiming to complete the transfer by September 2017 or as soon as practicable thereafter.
