This distinction recognizes our development work in the field of highly specialized battery technology. The award was presented for our completely non-magnetic Lithium Polymer battery, which we developed in close collaboration with the Hamburg-based medical technology company Northh Medical for the \u201csmart sync\u201d diagnostic system. The battery is used within MRI environments to detect heart defects in unborn children at an early stage \u2013 an innovation with a real impact: it improves image quality, increases diagnostic reliability, and gives expectant parents greater reassurance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Why this project was awarded the special prize<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In his commendatory speech, Prof. Dr. Frank Kramer (HFU) emphasized that this development is not only technically sophisticated, but, above all, delivers tangible medical benefits. It enables more reliable diagnoses in during an extremely sensitive phase of pregnancy. Only if it is completely non-magnetic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>That was the key challenge\u2014and the reason why conventional batteries were out of the question.
