They include both cells and\nbatteries and span primary cells, secondary cells, battery packs and portable\ndevice batteries. In addition to the requirements for the devices and central\nrules for the battery industry, the IEC also defines the requirements for\ntesting and technical documentation. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>IEC62133 \u2013 the most important standard for\nrechargeable cells and batteries<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The IEC62133 distinguishes between cells or batteries\nof the chemicals nickel and lithium. The safety analysis should\nidentify the components of the protective circuit that are critical for\nprotection against short circuit, overcharge and deep discharge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Description of the simulation of a single fault for\neach component (MOSFET, PTC, fuse, etc.) that implements protection against short\ncircuit.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The possibility of measuring or evaluating cell voltages in the event of a deep discharge with regard to compliance with the then not permissible charge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consideration of operation in intended use but also foreseeable misuse<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Introduction of one-fault tests<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vibration and shock tests based on the UN 38.3 test<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Further electrical and, if necessary, mechanical tests<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Here the standard applies:<\/strong><strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The IEC is a non-governmental organization.\nAccordingly, the standards serve the member states as a common basis for\nnational legislation. More than 80 nations from 6 continents are represented in\nit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unlike CE marking, which is usually tested by the\nmanufacturer, the IEC testing procedure requires testing and certification by\nan accredited laboratory. Here, too, the aim is to create easier market access\nand increase product safety through common standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even if all important industrial nations worldwide are\nmembers of the IEC, this does not automatically mean that the IEC standards\napply everywhere. In addition, not all test results are recognized everywhere.\nFor this reason, the CB process has been developed. The IEC standards form the\nbasis. All 50+ participating countries agree to mutually recognize the validity\nof the test results and certificates. The tests are carried out in specially\naccredited so-called CB test laboratories, whereby national differences are\ntaken into account and are tested beyond the standard. With the CB certificate,\nit is now possible to apply for the respective national test marks \u2013 and\nwithout retesting. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are able to perform the tests for this certification in cooperation with an accredited CB testing institute. This means that all tests for this certification are carried out in our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jauch.com\/en-INT\/products\/battery_technology\/test_and_certification_center\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">own test laboratory<\/a> under the observation of the institute. The official documentation incl. CB certificate is then prepared by the testing institute.
